Bill began
meeting with a grader update saying Monte Matue had been working on the
grader and the cost was about another $1000.00.
The subject of
“trespass” was discussed for about 30 minutes. It was brought up that paid
association members believe they can hunt anywhere in Scare Canyon even if
the property is posted. If people post their property then they cannot hunt
anywhere else in Scare Canyon. Tony Fox asked for clarification on what the
“permit” really means. Per Derek Hunwick, “trespass” is a civil matter and
the Association can be sued. The hunting paragraph in the SCRA bylaws was
discussed and interpreted in several ways. It was decided to leave the
bylaws unchanged. Ken Love reminded the board members again that SCRA is
not a hunting club. Tony Fox said trespass is a really hot issue but comes
down as “basic respect” for other people’s property- legally the property
owner has the right to keep you off their property if it is posted. Derek
Hunwick brought up the issue of “permits” and said according to the bylaws,
the board makes the final decision each year how many permits will be given
out for hunting.
Ken Love asked
how much we had spent on grader repairs so far this year – Stacy replied
about $3300.00. Monte Matue said we need more gravel for the roads and Max
Eddy said he had a crusher. Nothing was decided about gravel.
Monte made a
motion that we keep hunting permits at 6 per paid SCRA member this year. It
was seconded by Gordon Owens.
The “hunting”
letter was discussed and Bill asked that Bonnie Love include a page listing
the “water rules” for Scare Canyon water including turn on and turn off
dates.
The meeting was
adjourned at 7:39pm.
