President’s Newsletter for January 2009
First of all - a
special thanks to Mary Lou Heslop, Treasurer 2006 through 2008, for her
dedication and commitment to ensuring our books were always up to date
and balanced to the penny! We wish her the very best and know she will
be spending her free time with family and watching her grand kids grow
and have fun.
At this time, we
welcome Sherri Roby as the new SCRA Treasurer. Mary Lou and Sherri have
reviewed the books for a smooth and seamless transition.
We also appreciate
Adam Stuart for the time and effort he dedicated to the Board and
Association during his tenure. We bid Adam farewell and welcome Joel
Stewart to the Board and look forward to working with him. Joel brings
a wealth of knowledge and most of all, enthusiasm for supporting the
Association.
For those of you who
signed up at our November General Meeting to be involved on committees,
and met to start the ball rolling on gathering information on gated
communities, we couldn’t have gotten this much information and action
without you – we are really working together as a cohesive Association
and it is amazing what can be accomplished when we work together as a
team – again, a debt of gratitude to you all.
Many thanks to those
of you who have donated to the SCRA Legal Fund. Our lawyer is
proceeding as planned, and we are still waiting to hear the exact date
of our meeting with Cache County. We will keep you posted on this.
As a Board, we are
discussing the issue of keys and hunting permits to equalize the
fairness of each paying Association member, and how we can better
support your needs within the guidance of the By Laws.
On the matter of
“draft minutes” after consulting with various counties, cities, and the
State of Utah, the general consensus is “the minutes are not minutes
until they have been read and approved at the next meeting”;
therefore, draft minutes will not be posted on the web. However,
we will keep open lines of communication and post our meeting agendas,
and as soon as the minutes are read and approved, they will be posted to
the web in a timely manner. Remember – if something is considered
sensitive and close hold it should not be posted in the interest of the
Association, you can contact me and I will update you.
Mark your calendars for
March, 10 2009 for the March General Meeting, It will start at 7:00 p.m.
at the Marriott‑Slaterville City Offices, 1570 W. 400 N., Ogden UT
84404. From I-15 take Exit # 346 (400 North) turn East and travel just
past Toads (old Mulligans Mini-Golf) and you’ll see the offices.
Looking forward to seeing you all.Happy New Year and most
of all – be safe in the snow whether driving in town, or enjoying the
great snow while snowmobiling at Scare Canyon !!
