General SCRA Meeting
Weber
County Public Library
7:30PM, November 10, 2005
7:35PM Bill
Amundsen welcomed SCRA members to the General Election Meeting. Bonnie Love
read the minutes of the last general meeting held in August, 2005. Bill
asked if there were any changes to the August minutes. There were no
changes or remarks. Minutes were approved by Bill Amundsen as read.
Bonnie Love read
a letter sent to the association by Robert Wallis that pointed out issues he
and his wife experienced with hunters during the 2005 hunt. Robert asked
what the association was going to do about the growing trespass issues
regarding the hunting in Scare Canyon and also pointed out that he may put
in a gate to keep the hunters out.
After the reading
of the letter, Bill Admunson (retiring President SCRA) went over some of the
action items of 2005.
-
A letter sent
to Mike Olsen applauding Mike’s efforts to keep cattle on Coldwater Ranch
property. The letter was signed by all 2005 board members.
-
Grader repairs
and road work done in 2005
-
Work on leaks
at the lower spring
Jim Spencer
brought up the forest fire in Scare Canyon and the fact that when you call
911 from Scare Canyon, you do not get Cache County, but Rich County. He
said we need to make sure when we call 911 to let the dispatcher know what
county we are in.
Jim and several
association members discussed the events of the fire and how our members put
the fire out before it was out of control. Bob Wall made a motion that we
give each of the people who fought the fire a $25.00 check for a “steak
dinner”. Ron Hill seconded the motion and it was carried.
It was brought up
that the extension on our water rights is due in 2006. Ken Love will
contact Ray Gibbons and work on the extension. Monte Matue suggested that
Ray Gibbons and Lynn Clark stay involved with the water extension deadline
and work with Ken Love on the project.
Elections were
held for following positions:
President:
Treasurer:
Board Members (3)
NEW
SCRA BOARD MEMBERS
President:
Derek Hunwick (3 year position)
Treasurer:
MaryLou Heslop (3 year position)
Board Members:
Bill Shurtleff Jr. (3 year
position)
Kerry Dykster (3 year

Dave Richardson (3 year

Before the
meeting adjourned, Derek Hunwick (our new President) talked about the
progress on water issues at the lower spring. He said according to his
meter readings, over 2000 gallons went to the second gate this year – water
was not going where it “shouldn’t”. There is a good setup at the lower
spring now with shutoff’s at both spigot’s.
